Saturday, January 3, 2026: a magnificent opening night of “Los Guardiola – A Fantasy in Seven and a Half Dreams” at the Théâtre des Gémeaux Parisiens!

The new tableau inspired by the ancient myth of Pygmalion and Galatea
The new tableau inspired by the ancient myth of Pygmalion and Galatea

An extraordinary evening! In the space of one hour and ten minutes, every kind of weather seems to unfold in succession: the sun shines, then night falls; the tide rises, inviting a crossing of the ocean; human dreams evaporate and gather into clouds; a hurricane rises, sweeping away both people and dreams; night returns, star-studded; the moon appears, then gently descends to Earth of its own accord…

Meanwhile, the whole of human comedy comes into play—one-way tickets, nights at the opera, shop windows misted with desire, ladders reaching skyward toward the stars, and countless other scenes besides.

Always dancing, light-footed!

This new version of “Los Guardiola – A Fantasy in Seven and a Half Dreams” introduces many new elements. Among them are two entirely new tableaux: that of the “Dream sculptor,” inspired by Pygmalion’s love for Galatea, and that of the confetti hunter and his bird—both terrifying and magnificent—which escapes him by taking flight to the strains of Tchaikovsky’s The Blue Bird.

The house was full, and the audience responded magnificently!

Among those present were close friends and distinguished figures from the world of classical music: the superb Italian tenor Fabio Armiliato, whom many of you also know as an actor in Woody Allen’s film To Rome with Love (2012); the Italian composer Simone Tolomeo; the Franco-Russian mezzo-soprano Victoria Shereshevskaya; the French composer Charly Mandon

Here are two moments of applause: at the end of the performance, and then after the encore.

Among the many beautiful written responses from audience members, collected after the performance, we would like to quote two in particular:

“It is a duet ballet of great finesse and animal grace… They gave us momentum, joy, a taste of childhood and an innocence that feel so deeply nourishing in our burdened, chaotic, conflict-ridden and digital age.”

And by way of conclusion:

“Poetic, airy—one leaves with the desire to waltz among the clouds, like the dancer on her hoop!”

So we look forward to seeing you again next Saturday, to float once more among the stars!
